Christopher Jepperson, native of San Diego, California, holds a bachelors degree in music from Rice University and a Masters from Yale University. He was winner of the Texas Young Artists and has participated in the Festival at Sandpoint and at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada and was a fellow at Tanglewood. He has been principal clarinet of the Philharmonic of Bogotá, the Symphonic Orchestra of Xalapa and Aguascalientes Symphony Orchestra in Mexico. He premiered the Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra by Diego Vega and the Concerto by Luis Antonio Escobar. He has been a member of the Quintet of the Americas in New York where has recorded with XLNT, MMC and OO Discs.
Mr. Jepperson was a professor of clarinet at Javeriana University, Central University and the University Foundation Juan N. Corpas in Bogotá. He founded Clarinets of Colombia and helped to organize several clarinet festivals in Bogotá. In 2019 he recorded the Luis Escobar Concerto for the Banco de la Republica.
Currently Mr. Jepperson is primer clarinet in theNational Symphony Orchestra of Colombia and the OSNC Woodwind Quintet.
